You can use fresh or frozen berries for this delicious, good-for-you treat.

Please note this recipe only makes 4 servings, so double it if you have a crowd to feed.


2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen* berry combo of your choice

1 tablespoon sugar

3 Tbsp whole-wheat or all-purpose flour, divided

1 Tbsp orange juice

1/2 cup oats

1/4 cup chopped almonds

3 Tbsp brown sugar

1/4 tsp cinnamon

2 Tbsp oil, canola or light olive oil would work

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Combine fruit with sugar, orange juice and a Tbsp of the flour. Put into a glass baking dish coated with nonstick spray. Combine oats,  2 Tbsp flour, brown sugar, nuts and cinnamon. Drizzle with oil and stir to combine. Sprinkle over the fruit mixture. Bake 20 – 25 minutes or until bubbles and top starts to brown. Let stand before serving to allow the fruit juices to thicken.

*If using frozen you may want to slightly thaw and drain your fruit, or gently run water over it and drain to quickly thaw. This will prevent it from becoming too juicy, unless you like it that way.
